
BARR. (DR.) TAIWO OLAYINKA AFOLABI (MON)

Barr. (Dr.) Taiwo Olayinka Afolabi is a graduate of Law of the University of Lagos, Nigeria and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. He has well over 20 years cognate experience in the maritime and shipping industry and his wealth of experience and organizational prudence has remained an invaluable asset to Sifax Group, Nigeria. He began his career with Nigerian Express Agencies Limited (NEAL) where he rose through the ranks to become Head of Operations until 1988 when he left to establish Sifax Group Nigeria Limited which has now become a leader in ports, shipping and bonded terminal operation, and an institution in Shipping and Maritime service sector with offices in Ghana, South Africa, USA, Netherland, Belgium and United Kingdom. In addition, Sifax Group scored another first recently by diversifying into the aviation sector when it bided for and eventually took over the prestigious Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited through its subsidiary, Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL).
He is a seasoned maritime consultant, Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Financial Management (NIFM), Fellow of the Institute of Freight Forwarders of Nigeria (IFFN), among many other professional qualifications.
He has attended several courses, seminars and workshops on Ports operations, ground handling operations and management and other maritime and aviation service related courses both locally and internationally. He was conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degrees by Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho and three other Universities for his exceptional performance and contributions to global shipping and nation-building.
In recognition of his contributions to the growth of the society, he has been honoured with many awards, among which are: Maritime Quality Service Award (MQSA), 1997; Men of Achievement Award, 1998; Society Role Model and Corporate Gold Award, 2004, awarded by the Center for International Legal Co-operation and Democratic Development; Developmental Achievers in Nigeria 2007 Award by Times News Magazine and Entrepreneur of the Year 2008 Award among others.
In recognition of his contributions to the development of the relationship between Nigeria and the Republic of Djibouti, Barr. (Dr.) Afolabi was appointed the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Djibouti by His Excellency Ismail Omah Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti.
In 2010, Barr. (Dr.) Afolabi was conferred with the prestigious honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) by His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, GCFR, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in recognition of his outstanding virtues and meritorious services to his motherland, Nigeria.
MR. OLUROPO OWOLABI

Mr. Olu Owolabi hails from Ekiti State, Nigeria. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND), and thereafter a Diploma in Airline Management with specialization in Passenger and Ground Handling Services in Germany. He is also a graduate of Lufthansa School of Transport and Aviation, and holds a PGD from the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CITAN). He is a Fellow Member of the Institute (CITAN).
Mr. Owolabi has attended various courses, amongst which are International Air Transport Association (IATA) Passenger and Skill Development, Management Communication and, Leadership and Airport Management, Advanced Passenger/ Cargo Handling, Management Courses in Cargo and Airport Management. He was also part of series of seminars in Passenger, Ticketing, Customer Services, Ground Handling and Airport Management.
An excellent manager of human and material resources, Mr. Owolabi has in his chosen field acquired knowledge and experience that span through states, boundaries, nations and continents.
As an employee of the then national carrier, Nigeria Airways Limited, he had his first major assignment with the airline in 1978, as a team leader vested with the responsibility of reorganizing the airline's operations in the United Kingdom. As a result of his outstanding performance, he was retained in the United Kingdom for a period of nine months.
In 1981, Mr. Owolabi became the Nigeria Airways District Manager in Rome, Italy, a position he held till 1986 when he was drafted to head the airline's operations at the Domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
In 1987, he was moved to the International wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport as the District Manager. Here, he brought his vast knowledge and experience to bear in the formulation of the current security arrangement in Nigeria Airports, having served as a member of the formulating committee.
In 1989, Mr. Owolabi was transferred to New York as the General Manager, Nigeria Airways in United States of America and Canada. In 1997, he was one of the Task Force for revitalization and streamlining of the Nigeria Airways operations worldwide, with the mandate to return the airline to profitability.
Mr. Owolabi was thereafter appointed by the Honourable Minister of State (Aviation) as a member of the Committee to sanitize and organize the security arrangements of Murtala Muhammed International Airport to ICAO standard, and introduced the On Duty Card (ODC) which is being used at the airport.
On October 1, 1999, Mr. Owolabi became the General Manager/CEO of Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited, which then became autonomous from the 'apron string' of its parent company, Nigeria Airways Limited and the only surviving company of the defunct airline.
Mr. Owolabi has received many honours and awards, for his sheer resilience, astute business acumen, innovative skills, corporate excellence, and innovative approach to corporate turnaround. He has excelled in his chosen field of endeavor and has contributed immensely to the growth and development of the aviation sector.
At the helm of affairs of Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited between 1999 and 2003, Mr. Owolabi propelled the company into greater heights: Apart from embarking on refurbishment of some grounded equipment for optimum performance, he also repositioned the company for more improved service delivery through the acquisition of modern handling equipment, which led to rise in volume of operations, while the confidence, support and patronage of customers was also increased.
Today, Mr. Olu Owolabi is again called to lead Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, because of his dedication and diligence.
Mr. David Kolawole Olorundade, BSc, MBA
David Kolawole Olorundade holds a B.Sc. Business Administration from the University of Ado Ekiti and MBA (HR Major) from Lagos State University. His career commenced in 1988 as a Sales Representative in United Beverages Company Limited, Ibadan. He moved to His Kingdom House Publisher in 1997 as a Sales Officer. He moved to Crittall-Hope Nigeria Limited in 1999, first as Store Officer, then Procurement Officer and later rose to the position of Assistant Manager, Personnel and Administration in 2005. He later joined Sifax Group of Companies in 2006, first as an Assistant Manager, Human Resources, then Human Resources Manager, and later rose to the position of Head, Human Resources.
Mr. David Kolawole Olorundade was seconded to Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited in December 2009 as Head, Human Resources when the Company was bought over by Sifax Group from Federal Government of Nigeria via Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE).
Mr. David Kolawole Olorundade's interest and experience span the entire general practice of Human Resources Management as a strategic partner in fostering business development and growth. He is result oriented and someone driven by passion for excellence in a team based business environment. He posses' effective people's management skills and competencies in Human Capital Management.
He has broad exposure in Labour Law and practical experience in dealing with challenges in industrial relations (in a unionized/Volatile environment such as Maritime and Aviation Sectors).
He is a member of Nigerian Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) and student member ,Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
Mr. David Kolawole Olorundade is currently the Assistant General Manager, Human Resources of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL).
Mr. Bamidele Obafemi Akinola, BSc., MBA, ACA, FCA, FCIT, MNIM, MNIS, MIOD
Bamidele Obafemi Akinola holds a B.Sc. Agric-Economics from the University of Ife (now OAU) and a Masters in Banking and Finance (MBA) from ESUT Business School, Lagos. His career commenced in 1982 as a Senior Audit Trainee at Peat Marwick Ani Ogunde & Co. (KPMG Audit & Tax). He moved to Maerskline Agency Nigeria Ltd in 1989 as the Chief Accountant. He later joined Maersk Nigeria Ltd (Formerly Niger Nordic Ltd) as Chief Accountant/Finance Controller from where he moved to SeaTruck Group of Companies as the Systems Coordinator/Group Internal Auditor. He was briefly the Group Internal Auditor of Aeromaritime Group of Companies in 2003 and from there moved to Aviation Development PLC (ADC Airline) in 2004 as the Chief Internal Auditor/Head Internal Audit and later became the Head of Accounts. He joined DN Meyer PLC in 2006, first as the Head of Finance, then Head of Corporate Services and Company Secretary, next as Finance Director and Company Secretary, and finally as Director, Special Duties. He was the Fund Manager of Meyer Pension Ltd in 2006- 2010. He became the Company Secretary of ACIMS Ltd from 2006-2010 and thereafter a Director from 2007-2010.
Mr. Obafemi Akinola is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; Fellow, Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; a Member, Nigerian Institute of Management, Nigerian Institute of Shipping and Institute of Directors.
He serves as a Director in NGR Nigeria Ltd and as Chairman, Femolysis Ltd. He served as Chairman, NECA Finance Experts Committee between 2007 and 2010.
Mr. Akinola is currently the Executive Director, Finance & Admin of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL). He is happily married with children.
Mr. Babajide Eniolorunda Awobayikun BSc., MBA
Babajide Awobayikun holds a B.Sc. Surveying from the University of Lagos, Akoka and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos. His career commenced in 1991 as a Management Trainee in Springfountain Finance and Trust Company Limited.
He moved to Springfountain Management Consultants in 1994 as a Special Projects Consultant. Subsequently he was appointed as the Project Coordinator for Nexus Aviation, a joint venture project with Nigeria Airways.
He later joined Landover Aviation Company Limited in 2000 as the Training Manager, later became the Head Human Resources, Business Manager Navigational Services and finally Business Manager, Landover Aviation Business School.
After Landover, he had a brief stint consulting for young startup companies in the Aviation Industry from where he moved to Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) now Skyway Aviation Handling Company as the Business Development Manager Sales and Marketing in 2008. He later became the Regional Manager (west) in Operations. After the takeover of Skypower by Skyway, he was redeployed back to Sales and Marketing as the Head of Sales. Later he became the Group Head, Sales and Marketing. At present he is the Assistant General Manager Operations of Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited.
Mr. Babajide Awobayikun is a people and result-oriented individual, a good motivator with excellent team player skills. As the AGM Operations, he has begun the process of repositioning SAHCOL Operations for Service excellence across the network.
Adigun Olaniyi Alamu, B.ED (Economics), MBA (Marketing), NIM
Mr. Adigun holds B.Ed. Economics from the University of Port Harcourt (1990) and a Masters degree in Business Administration (Marketing) - 1997 from Lagos State University.
He started his working career on June 23, 1993 with the National Carrier - Nigeria Airways Ltd. (in liquidation), as a Cabin Executive for six years and later moved on to the Airline Sales and Marketing department as a Marketing Officer having completed his six months Airline Marketing Cadetship from the Nigeria Airways Ground Training School.
In 2001, he was invited to join Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited (SAHCOL) to start up the Marketing department of the company as a Marketing Executive.
In SAHCOL, Mr. Adigun has attended a sizeable number of professional courses both foreign and local. These include:
- Station Ground Handling Management - IATA (Geneva).
- Dangerous Goods Regulation - (Initial) - IATA (Singapore).
- Cargo Marketing - IATA (Geneva).
- Strategic Marketing Management - Phillips Consulting (Lagos, Nigeria).
While in Skypower, he occupied various positions including:
- Cargo Officer
- Personal Assistant to the Managing Director/CEO.
- Assistant, Cargo Marketing Manager
- Cargo Manager.
- Station Manager, Domestic Operations.
- Regional Manager, Operations (West)
- Head, Corporate Development
After the acquisition of Skypower by Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited, a subsidiary of the SIFAX Group, he assumed the position of AGM, Sales and Marketing which he holds till date. Mr. Adigun is happily married with children.
OLUJIMI ADEOYE OSHO LL.B (Hons) B.L, LL.M (Lagos), MBA
Jimi Osho is a Masters holder of Law (LL.M) and Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos. He obtained his LL.B (Hons) Degree from Ogun State University (now Olabisi Onabanjo University) Ago-Iwoye in 1997 and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria in 1998.
He was engaged in full time advocacy and corporate practices for almost a decade before joining Skypower Aviation Handling Company Limited (now Skyway Aviation Handling Company Limited) in 2005. He rose to the position of Company Secretary/Legal Adviser of the Company.
Osho has vast experience in Advocacy, Commercial and Property Law, Trademark and Copyrights Law as well as Arbitration and Legal Drafting. He has acquired practical experience in corporate legal practices especially in Aviation Law. He has attended several trainings/seminars both home and abroad.
He is a Co-Author of the acclaimed Lawyers' Companion: "Compendium of Laws under the Nigerian Legal System". He loves travelling and meeting people. Osho is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association. He is happily married with children.
ALHAJI SAHEED LASISI (ACA)
Alhaji Lasisi is an alumni of the prestigious University of Lagos, where he graduated with second class honor, upper division. An Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, whose experience spans across the spectrum of the Nigeria economy. He has been in Investment Banking, Audit and Management Consultancy. Over the years, he has developed a strategic competence in structuring corporate finance and turning around of ailing companies. He played an active role in the acquisitions and turn around of Perpetual Assurance Company Limited and Nigerian Wire and Cable Plc.
He has worked in Perpetual Assurance Company Ltd (now part of Standard Alliance Insurance Plc) as Financial Controller, Truebond Investments and Capital Limited as Group Head, Internal Control. He set up and managed the internal audit of various companies within the group such as, Carrier Insurance Brokers Limited, the Bookhouse Company Ltd etc.
He left Truebond Investments and Capital Limited as General Manager/Chief Operating Officer.
He served as a director in various quoted and unquoted companies among which are Nigerian Wire and Cable Plc, Guardian Health Care Ltd, Truebond Capital and Asset Management Ltd, Truebond Microfinance Bank Limited, Western Properties and Leisure Ltd among others.
He is actively involved in various educational and training programmes amongst which are:
- Facilitator with Centre for Microfinance Enterprises Development, Ikeja.
- Facilitator with I- Skill Limited, Victoria Island, Lagos.
- Financial Account Lecturer with ICAN training centers.
He is also actively involved in the activities of the Institute of Chartered Accountant of Nigeria and he is a member of the Annual Accountant Conference Committee.
